Colors autumn 94 porn3/10/2024 ![]() Late Spring by Ozu this one I’ve mentioned already. Since then I’ve amassed a big list of favourite films, I would probably consider these to be at the very top (in no particular order). That opened an entire floodgates to foreign, arthouse, and all kinds of other genres. I’m a girl actually :) I’ve always liked movies growing up (I immigrated to North America at a young age and learned English from Hollywood movies, from Gone with the Wind to Marvel), but didn’t appreciate cinema to the extent that I do now until I watched Late Spring in university. Im curious to know, since you sound like a guy with a taste in film, what would be your other movies making your top 10 list? Maybe to add something on my watchlist! I dont know, im too undecided to know if its my favourite movie (it is im my top 10 along with Late spring) but i know it is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful movie unlike any other i saw. Now, if someone asked me on the street "what is one perfect movie everyone should watch" Tokyo Story would probably be my answer. Initially i maybe slightly prefered Late Spring, but as the time passed Tokyo Story grew and grew on me. But, for me, after watching Tokyo Story, i couldnt decide between the two. Im sort of in the same boat, i adore Ozu and Late Spring was my entry to him (also recommend that movie to anyone trying to enter Ozu filmography). You mentioned it was your entry point to Ozu and you prefer it to Tokyo Story. I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on Ozu and Late Spring! Amazing movie. Do you have a favourite Bergman film? Or is it Autumn Sonata? I might get into it this weekend as I’ve been thinking about what to watch over the long weekend.Įdit: I see that you’re a fan of Bergman! I was going to include his Persona as my other perfect film pick but haven’t been able to articulate properly what made it so special to me, so I erased my comment. Strangelove is one that I haven’t seen yet. Speaking of that, there’s a new film that premiered at Cannes this year called EO, and I’ve heard many people compare it to Au Hasard Balthazar, some even going as far as saying it’s even better which I didn’t know would be possible! I will be seeing it soon when it premieres in my country and hope it lives up to the good reviews.ĭr. I think my favourite Bresson is Pickpocket but Au Hasard Balthazar is a close second. I love Au Hasard Balthazar and Paris, Texas too. My entry point to Ozu and cinema in general was Late Spring so I recommend that! A lot of people would probably say to start off with his most well-known, Tokyo Story, but I feel Late Spring was the (slightly) better one. Looking forward to see other responses and what others would consider to be their perfect films. Ingrid was magnificent and Liv absolutely killed it. That day, as I watched it I knew I was seeing something truly special. I haven’t seen the film a second time yet just because I want to preserve the magic of the first time as long as I could. It was so emotional, and not in a way that the director is trying to pander to the audiences’ tears. ![]() I didn’t know what I was going into but it was like a switch turned on inside me as I sat in the cinema that day. I had a free voucher to our city’s independent cinema and chose Late Spring at random. I was probably in university and not at all crazy about films back then. Ozu’s Late Spring comes to mind immediately. ![]() There are so many 5 star films that I’ve seen but I would only consider very few as a perfect. Oh my goodness, I could go on and on about this topic.
